Spring Home Maintenance Tips

Daylight savings is just a week away which means the days will only continue to get longer! As a homeowner you should take advantage of the longer spring and summer days that are headed your way.

Josh knows that being a homeowner isn’t always easy and that your “to-do list” list can add up quickly. Furthermore, you often don’t know where to start with routine maintenance and the task can seem daunting.

Follow my easy check list below to make your life easier this spring season!

MAINTENANCE TIPS:

  • Clean out your gutters
  • Check your siding for cracks or holes and repair as needed. Also, it’s a good idea to power wash to keep everything clean.
  • Check window sills, door sills, and thresholds: Fill cracks, caulk edges, repaint or replace if necessary.
  • Check window and door screens and patch any holes to make sure bugs can’t come in.
  • Check roof for any missing shingles or spots where leaks might occur and repair or replace if necessary.
  • Check all decks and railings to make sure everything is secure. Power wash and retreat deck if necessary to maintain boards.
  • Prepare Air conditioner for upcoming summer and make sure humidifier is set correctly for the summer months.
  • Flush out your water heater
  • Deep clean your carpets
